Fulton Homes Launches Pick of the Litter Campaign
to Find Homes for Shelter Pups

The brand new campaign with 98KUPD encourages adopting pets
in an effort to empty the Valley's animal shelters

Fulton Homes will join forces with John Holmberg and 98 KUPD to empty the valley's animal shelters and will help local homeless dogs and cats find their fur-ever homes. In Arizona especially, stray animals and overwhelmed shelters is a major problem. The largest shelter in Arizona reports taking in about 17,000 animals per year in their shelters. Maricopa County also records the second highest amount of strays in the United States, only behind Los Angeles County. Lost Our Home animal shelter will be providing the adoptable dogs for Pick of the Litter by Fulton Homes.

CEO of Fulton Homes, Doug Fulton is an animal lover and wants to see pet shelters looking a lot emptier because of Pick of the Litter. "When I heard that animal shelters are taking in up to 100 pets per day during the summer months, I thought we could really make an impact with a public awareness campaign and that's how Pick of the Litter was born," said Fulton. "You can't help but want to adopt one these adorable pups from Lost Our Home shelter when you see them," he continued.

The valley-homebuilder the radio station are teaming up to chip away at the overwhelming amount of animals in Arizona shelters by creating a benchmark feature during the KUPD morning show to highlight and feature the valley's available furry friends. Every week Monday-Thursday, from April 29th to December 29th, John will tease his listeners about the upcoming Fulton Homes pick of the litter and then every Friday morning he will reveal the pick. With the additional help of local valley veterinarians the pets adopted by 98 KUPD listeners will have healthy and safe furry family members with free immunizations and/or microchips.

Radio host and owner of 6 dogs, John Holmberg, from 98 KUPD explains the impact that this promotion is going to have. "What I have found that really sticks with me is that we really connect to other people through our dogs. I met a couple at one of these events who wanted to adopt a shelter dog but just really couldn't afford it. I made arrangements so that they could have this dog without bearing the up-front expense and we still stay connected even to this day," said Holmberg. "The best part is seeing the dogs that were adopted still thriving with their pet parents years later. It's like you get to see them grow up," continued Holmberg.
