Free Dog Booties: Fulton Homes' Cause
for Paws Returns as Summer Heats Up

Local homebuilder brings back popular promotion helping protect
dogs' paws during the searing summer temperatures

Fulton Homes, Arizona's largest family-owned and -operated homebuilder, is partnering with KSLX for the return of Fulton Homes' Cause for Paws awareness campaign that gives families a set of dog booties. Donations are encouraged but not required, with all proceeds going to the Arizona Humane Society for their canine family members.

Today's announcement outlines the eight different dates and sites throughout the entire summer, as well as the first location—happening this weekend—where dog owners can show up to receive booties designed to protect the pads of dogs' feet from searing outdoor ground coverings on which dogs and owners walk most of the year without concern.

"Dogs are part of the family, and we are dedicated to helping keep them safe this summer," said Fulton Homes CEO Doug Fulton. "The campaign aims to inform pet owners of the dangers of walking their pets on scorching concrete, asphalt or other surfaces during our Arizona summers."

Studies have shown that on a 120 degree surface, a dog's paw pads can burn and redden after just 5 minutes. A surface temperature of 150 degrees has the potential to cause permanent nerve damage to canine family members. Each event will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and interested parties are encouraged to attend to receive dog booties, while supplies last, and learn more about protecting dogs' paws at the following sites and dates:

More details will be provided to the public as each date approaches. Appropriate physical distancing measures will be implemented per county public health recommendations at the time of the giveaway.
