Fulton Homes, Arizona's largest family-owned and -operated homebuilder, is reiterating its dedication to bringing the highest level of air quality to each of its new homes.

The announcement aligns with the consistent slew of awards and recognitions that Fulton Homes has received from the government's Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in which the homebuilder received six straight EPA Indoor airPLUS Leader awards and Indoor airPLUS Leader of the Year – Builder awards, given to just one builder per year from the larger pool of Leader Award winners.

Fulton Homes has won the Indoor airPLUS Leader of the Year – Builder award two out of the three years the award has existed, 2018 and 2020.

"Our investments in these programs and technologies directly relate to what consumers are looking for," said Dennis Webb, Fulton Homes' vice president of operations. "Building a healthy home with the best possible indoor air quality is the future of homebuilding. When we look at all the evolving factors in our surrounding landscape—wildfires, allergens or other airborne concerns—these are necessary investments."

Currently, one of the areas Fulton Homes devotes the most resources to regarding indoor air quality is sealing homes to bring only fresh air in and prevent outside particles from making entry into the home's HVAC and circulation systems. The homebuilder also collaborates with its rater (a third party that carefully monitors the construction of a home for efficiency and safety) and educates its own sales staff to communicate the benefits of the EPA's standards to potential homebuyers.

The EPA has designated construction specifications that builders must follow to qualify as an Indoor airPLUS home, including:

moisture control systems
heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems
combustion venting systems
radon-resistant construction

Fulton Homes is committed to using paints and carpets without VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds), a group of chemicals that are often found in home-building. The result is a home that lives up to the "Fulton Promise" of building a healthy home, protecting homebuyers from moisture and mold, pests, gases and airborne pollutants.
